Preventive care is the best way of showing these dogs somebody is really looking out for them, by not letting them contract diseases and parasites.
Taking care of animals means keeping preventable illnesses at bay.

Pino was cruelly abandoned in the midst of freezing winter, left to fend for himself as a helpless 6 months-old kitten. Luckily his cries for help were heard by his our friends from the Great Catsby association and he soon became part of our family of rescued babies. At the moment he is enjoying life in his foster home, sleeping most of the day in cozy fluffy cat beds, chasing his foster furry friends and hunting the feather toy like there’s no tomorrow.
This defenseless dog was shot in his front paw, in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine. We were relieved to know that rescue efforts done by our friend Robert, were successful in saving the dog’s life. He took the dog immediately to the vet clinic where he was examined, the wound was cleaned and he had a surgery to amputate the rest of his front leg. Chips has made a remarkable recovery and the wonderful news is that he will soon be traveling to his new family in Germany.
Social campaigns
Starting with 2022, ROLDA decided to expand our aid for animals to other small charities from Romania in danger of closing down because of financial problems caused by the COVID period, followed by the war implications, the energetic and economic crisis.
With your help, ROLDA will continue to support charities from Tulcea, Caracal, Focsani, Rm Sarat, Slobozia, Solca and Desa.
Many seniors in Romania live on the edge of collapse, depressed, in poverty, often being forced to choose between buying medicines or paying utility bills. Having a pet, for many, is the best thing that has happened to them. ROLDA’s FriendsForever campaign will continue in 2025 thanks to your generosity and care.
During 2024, ROLDA funded sterilization campaigns in Galati, Tulcea and Caracal.
Ukrainian partners sent update photos of sterilizations done throughout the year. ROLDA will continue to pay for sterilizations in both countries.
Help a puppy get nutritional food, treatment for diarrhea and vaccines to protect them against mass spreading deadly diseases.

Richie was found in the Korosten area with a severe wound on his back; after weeks in hospital, he fully recovered.
$50 is enough to pay a visit to the vet.
Bill is a senior dog brought to the shelter by his owner in tears. His wife passed and he had undergone heart surgery, he couldn’t keep Bill any longer. We welcomed Bill in our shelter and soon, he was rehomed in Switzerland.
$5 is enough to pay for an annual vaccine for a dog.
ROLDA support their Romanian colleagues to free dogs from chains whenever possible. Injured dogs are easier to free because owners often do not care enough to pay for treatment. Without our intervention, these poor dogs would continue to live imprisoned and in pain.
ROLDA opposes animal abandonment, cruelty and euthanasia.
We paused the delivery of doghouses to allow us to focus on helping Ukrainian animals affected by the war. In 2025, we hope to deliver a minimum of 50 dog houses to pets living exposed to extreme weather conditions.
We are proud to announce that thousands of coloring books have already been distributed for free in schools in different parts of Romania starting with 2022 and we will not stop here. We hope to print the translated version of the coloring book and distribute it outside Romania.
